Today, majority of the companies are adopting the motto, “do more
with less.” But, somewhere it is still seen that employees feel
stressed out with too much of workload. Are you one of them? Do you
think that as time passes by you have more tasks on hand than you
have time to do them?
The trick is to use your time effectively to complete all the given
tasks. You need to organize your tasks and utilize your time
effectively to obtain better results than before. This can also help
to lower your stress level.
The goal of this post is to help you find ways for you to obtain
better in your work. Instead of trying to do a bunch of these at
once, find a couple that you can implement because it takes time to
form a new habit
Here are six tips that can help you achieve better results in your
work:
1) Set possible goals:
Goals are an essential part of the results. Not necessary they have
to be big; however, they need to be challenging. The goals set by you
must push you a little bit, in terms of work quality, work quantity,
or how fast you get the work done.
2) Seek supporters:
At every level of the organization. Once you know your goals, you
need to find people who will support you- both in terms of giving
resources and motivational support. Individuals that can support and
guide also includes your boss along with your co-workers and perhaps
even your vendor partners.
3) Get prepared:
Sometimes, you may get distracted while working, for example staring
at the pictures of cute pandas on the internet, where you know a lot
of time, energy, and resources can get wasted on the wrong things. If
you want to deliver excellent work, then you need to use our
resources wisely. You need to have a plan and a reasonable timeline
for completing their work.
4) Allocate resources:
Speaking of resources, one needs to ask oneself, “what resources do
I have? What and from where can I get additional resources? This ties
back to looking for supporters or even opt for talent
management courses and to accomplish a goal with
limited resources.
5) Utilize technology deliberately:
Technology is one of the resources that can help achieve better
results. But, for technology to be highly effective, you must know
what technology you have access to and how that technology works. At
times, organizations do not make use of technology to its fullest
capabilities, and that has an impact on results.
6) Monitor progress regularly:
Once you start work, you must monitor results. If you are working on
a big project, there could be defined milestones with identifiable
times to monitor progress. When it comes to your daily work, you
could take ten minutes at the end of your day to simply review- what
all you have done towards achieving your goals. Taking some small
steps can quickly turn into big results.
7) Celebrate success:
Some people set themselves short by not celebrating what they have
done. Usually, it is placed into the category of “we did our job”
so that’s not worth celebrating. Let us offer to view this more
positively: If you are setting challenging goals, collaborating with
others, staying systematized by using resources wisely, levering
technology, and regularly reviewing your progress, then even if you
are “doing your job,” it is worth celebrating. Since it is hard
work.
The bottom line………….
To end with, track your daily progress and plan each week in advance.
The idea here is always to know what you will be doing the next day.
Even dreadful Monday mornings are easier when you arrive to work with
a clear goal in mind and without requiring to spend the first three
hours figuring out, what is going on.
In the end, you need to remember what’s essential: Results. As many
you still do not understand it, spread the word. Change your mindset.
And follow the tips mentioned above, you must be able to ensure the
end of the day is at least a few hours earlier.
