KUWAIT CITY, June 24: The Ministry of Interior is said to have issued a directive lifting a ban on the issuance of work permits to five Arab and Asian nationalities by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, reports Al-Nahar daily.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor were quoted as saying that work permits will be issued and also renewed for Afghans, Pakistanis, Iraqis, Syrians and Iranians at the end of June, stressing the ban imposed on their residence-related transactions has finally been lifted.
The Interior Minister recently also issued a directive for completion of transactions of all those individuals from these countries who had arrived in Kuwait before the ban was imposed but the immigration officials say they have so far not received any official instructions on the issue.
There is also a ban currently in place on the issuance of visit visas to nationals of these five countries.
